Dihan:

Today i hosted this Vidyasagar birth anniversary

Our infinite debt to life. This life is not mine. This well-being is not due to me alone. The result of the direct or indirect warm embrace of countless yugapurush on this life path – our existence today. With the gentle flow of extraordinary heart-spectrum, they have laid the cold mat for us. Even in the present time, even in the heat of the moment, the om of this cool bed fills the body and mind. We live, we dream to save future generations.

Piyas:

I would like to request the President to give his welcome address at the auspicious start of the event.

 “The chief glory in the character of Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar is his invincible masculinity, his inexhaustible humanity, and the more we realize this, the more our education will be complete and the purpose of God successful, and the character of Vidyasagar will be forever established in the national life of Bengalis.”

 Piyas:

 This quote about Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar is another great man, who is not only in the hearts of Bengalis, but also in the hearts of Indians.  He is Rabindranath.  Character worship probably says the same.

 Piyas:

 A book of sad words wakes me up at night and sometimes asks me the unanswered question – “What are you doing these days?”  I can’t avoid the question even if I understand it! It seems that I am a migratory bird in my heart;  Back to hard reality after some time.  The fact that I know, and not known. Where my springtime understand how many cuckoos sing to me. I think, but, he is my friend!  At the end of my spring days he also flies away. I lie quietly within myself. He is my heart, I am not his.

Dihan:

 In these times, in search of a handful of peace or relief, when the smell of the past floated, then came Vidyasagar, Rabindranath, Vivekananda… how many others…

 Piyas :

 Their days end, a century of history comes to an end.But the legacy remains upon us.  The responsibility is not finished. Will we continue to carry that responsibility? How much did they make a mistake, what time will we give in the book only to take account of it?

 Piyas:

 Or the man whose whole life was penance for humanity, penance for liberation. I will fight as a warrior for that liberation, only for the sake of humanity.

 Dihan:

 Well, tell me that today we are free in a sense.  But where is the liberation, the liberation of life, the liberation of people – what Vidyasagar wanted?  Who will take the burden of his unfinished work? That burden is all of you, that burden is all of us.

 Piyas:

 The history of Vidyasagar’s life is not only his life history, but it is the history of the development of an entire nation.

Dihan:

 Let me tell you a story. At that time, polygamy was another social curse. Vidyasagar could not tolerate such anarchy in the name of Kaulinya religion.  So, before the end of the widow marriage, he joined another movement.  “Polygamy” should be abolished.

 Piyas:

 Before saying that, let’s listen to a list. A gentleman married eighty at the age of fifty-five. But he is very old.  Twenty-one marriages of an eighteen-year-old boy.  One married forty, aged thirty-five.  more Fun, five wife  of a twelve-year-old boy.  And more fun, two marriages of a five-year-old boy. Vidyasagar made this calculation by going from village to village. His name is Kaulinya.  Its name is religion.  If the name of the rebel against it is sin, who would not want to sin?  But I say, we do not follow the scriptures very much.  In the scriptures, it is said that where girls are worshiped, gods live there.  This is a sample of the puja!

 Dihan:

 The movement started again.  The waves rose.  In the same year – 1855, when the widow marriage movement was around.  The petition reached the government to stop polygamy by law. Again, public signatures were collected.

 Piyas:

 This time, however, the wish was not fulfilled. In 1866, the application went again.  That attempt failed again. In the end, the law was not passed. But Vidyasagar won.  The indirect result of the movement is that the courage of the people increased. Everyone knew the deadly face in the name of beauty system.  Many of them refused to get married, their own children, their own daughters – this feeling slowly wiped out polygamy. And today… we all know the result.

 The British rule is getting stronger in the country then.  But only knowing that the people of the country are getting involved in a foreign regime, that era cannot be fully understood.  Along with this, a big change is coming in the country’s social system, that should also be noted.

 Piyas:

 Of course, it is not that there is no relationship between these two matters.  The era is the time to gradually move from the feudal era to the rich era.  Its import is also from the west.  all The center of civilization is shifting from villages to cities.  ‘Go to the metropolis — seek a new life, go to the metropolis,’ cries Rob. The cottage industry is collapsing, crushing him with its roar. the english  The days of machines are approaching.  The face of society is turning inside-out.

 Dihan:

 The change is not small.  A new idea has arisen in the country, various people are rising in its excitement. I will think anew.  I will know again.  I will re-examine the whole world.  This is a group of educated people desire  I want logic.  Whom I have believed without doubt, now I doubt him.  Why believe.First explain with logic. If not, I don’t believe it.

 Piyas:

 So the demolition started.  Broken in one hand, built in the other.  What will break?  False rituals, false reforms.  I will break the delusion that will not allow us to live as human beings, I will break it. And build that world, where no barriers will come and bind people.

 Dihan:

 Vidyasagar thought of various social reforms. It cannot continue like this. We want radical change everywhere.

 Piyas:

 Vidyasagar’s first job was at Fort William College. But at the beginning, the authorities were a little shocked by his strong character.  It is possible for the civilians who came from abroad to get high jobs without taking the language test of this country. Mr. Vidyasagar was made the examiner of that exam with good understanding.  Immediately it was seen that almost all the gentlemen were returning home with failure, it became difficult to pass the exam.The bosses said, can’t you make it a little less tight?

Dihan:

 Vidyasagar said plainly, no, that is not possible with me.  Otherwise I will leave my job, I can’t condone injustice.

 Dihan:

 After a few days, he was brought to the Sanskrit College. Mr. Vidyasagar came to the Sanskrit College, and immediately discipline came to the college.  Earlier, students as well as their masters, went as they pleased.  They enjoyed the fun of not having any binding rules.  The difficulty is that Vidyasagar himself has fallen to them.  How will he rule them?

 Piyas:

 Regular is walking around in the balcony of the college;  One by one the professors are entering late and so Vidyasagar is saying, didn’t he come?  Vidyasagar could not say anything Against  to Jayanarayan Tarkapanchanan.He was bounded by his conscience.  He stood silently.  At the end, the gentleman himself burst out one day: You don’t say anything, Bapu, that’s what made it difficult.  A reply could have been given by talking.  Well, I will come on time from tomorrow.

 Dihan:

 A professor punished the boys by making them stand up.  Vidyasagar could not see such physical suffering at all.  I remember the school of Sanatan Pandit as a child.  The professor called behind the scenes and said, “Hey, have you opened a travel group or not?”  Are you training the boys?  Do you understand that the ambassador will dress up? The gentleman was very ashamed.

Piyas:

 Seeing a cane in one’s hand, he asked, ‘What is that for?’ ‘It is convenient to show the map.’  The map is also shown, and falls on the boys’ backs if possible.’
